Dining with the King

        Written by Marsha Biddix

If you were invited to attend an event at the Royal Palace with the King, what would you do to prepare for this special event?

Personally, first I would be very excited and ecstatic that I was chosen to join the King.
Secondly, I would immediately schedule myself to have my hair, nails, and toes perfected just for the event; and
Thirdly, I would prepare myself to wear the finest of clothing, shoes and perfume.

In the Book of Esther, this was the protocol in the Citadel of Susa during the reign of King Xerxes.  In order to sit in the presence of King Xerxes, Esther went through 12 month’s of preparation to compete as queen in the King’s palace.  During this time period, she received beauty treatments with oils, perfumes and cosmetics before going in the King’s presence. Esther 2:12
I am so thankful that The King of Kings does not require that we go through any preparation or perfections to be in His presence.  He only wants you just as you are…with an open and honest heart.

This is a special invitation only
The King is inviting you to come and dine.
He wants a one-on-one conversation with you.
He wants you to have an intimate and personal relationship with Him.
He wants you to open up the Bible and learn of Him.

He wants you to know how much "He loves you".

He wants to share secrets of His Kingdom, and

His abundant and overflowing blessings at the table.

You may have been or currently experiencing challenges in your life.  But the King wants you to know that He has seen your tears, your hurts, your losses, and your failures.  He wants you to refocus your eyes on Him and come just as you are.  The table is already prepared, when you come in His presence. In Psalms 23:5, God is saying, “He prepares a table before you in the presence of your enemies”.
The devil wants you to believe that God is not concerned about you and He is not there for you.  But, the Bible tells us that, He never ever forsakes us or leave us alone.

Jesus Loves You and wants you to totally depend on Him. Learn to run to Him for everything. Everything you need is at the King’s table: Fruits of the Spirit, Living Waters, Bread of Life, Spiritual Gifts, Abundant Blessings and much more.
Slip away, and go gracefully and dine with Him.  You will find that everything is especially prepared and ready for you.

Prayer:   Heavenly Father, I accept your invitation to come into your presence and dine at the table.  I will partake of what You have prepared for me.  Restore my soul and heart and help me to follow you daily. Amen.
